Daniel H. Lanteigne, Executive Director – REA Foundation, attended the AFP International Conference in New Orleans, LA held on April 15-17, thanks to a bursary granted by AFP – Québec Chapter and the Chamberlain Scholarship. He shares his experience here.
“Philanthropy has resounded like never before at the AFP International Conference in New Orleans!
During the three-day event, the conference tackled current issues such as the role of women and diversity in philanthropy. From the kick-off of the conference, the IDEA initiative (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access) set the tone for the coming days, as well as for the positioning undertaken by new AFP management.
Not only was this event a greatly enriching by means of its various sessions, but also by the quality of the human connections that took place over the course of these three days. Various elements were in place to foster synergy between different groups, including Chamberlain fellows and Canadian participants who were invited to the reception. These networking opportunities made it possible to meet like-minded people, validate perceptions, compare methods and, above all, to be inspired and get ready to take action.
Thus, I want to sincerely thank the AFP – Quebec chapter for having awarded me the Chamberlain Fellowship and I invite all eligible members to apply for future editions of the International Conference to live this incredible experience.”
